Jackie H's Success StoryI really have to admit it. I used to think online dating was ridiculous. I thought, "I don't want to meet a bunch of people who can't find any one else. The left overs." After grinding away at the dating game for a while though, my friends really pushed me to try online dating. Looking back, it was the best decision I ever made. When I started, the whole idea still seemed sort of silly. Here I am puting my self, as an amputee, out there looking for someone who was really interested. It really felt awkward talking about my past and my loneliness and my dreams. Over time though, and especially after reading some other profiles, I knew I was making the best choice for myself. About eight weeks after I signed up I had my first great date. The guy I had met was looking specifically for an amputee, and I prefered a devotee so we were compatible in that respect, but there was a great chemistry that I just can't discribe. We met through Match.com and they must have a great way to rate compatablity because it really was love at first site. This man wasn't the first match I met, but he was (and will be!) the last. We're happily engaged, and I don't even want to think about where I would be if I hadn't given online dating a chance. If you are on the fence about this one, I'd say you should so go for it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain! The best advice I could give you is to be patient. It took me eight weeks to find my true love, but it would've been worth the wait if it had taken ten times that long. Related Reading |
